SOMA
BRANDING / WEBSITE / SOCIALS/ MECH
2023
Soma.fm is an internet radio station that streams electronic ambient music, with a brand identity strongly tied to space and the cosmos. Keeping this in mind, @ichahidd
and I approached the rebranding with the idea of reflecting humanity’s early steps in space exploration. To achieve this, we used simple, experimental tools like net.art image generators, datamoshing, and similar techniques to create visuals with a raw and exploratory feel. The gradients we used were directly extracted from images of space, such as photos of galaxies, nebulas, and planets, grounding the design in authentic cosmic visuals.
